How are Plastic Granulators Helping the World?

As the world is heading towards destruction due to the increasing population and corresponding pollution levels, the scientists have become active on finding ways to eliminate the same. They come with new inventions and innovations to reduce the waste reduction to as much extent as possible. To reduce the waste production of the plastics, which is one of the major reasons of soil, air and water pollution; scientists have invented the machine known as “Plastic Granulators”.

By granulation, we mean the process of forming or crystallizing something into small granules. These grains might vary in size of 0.2 and 4.0 mm depending on the substance to be granulated. There are basically two types of granulation carried out:

  1. Wet granulation: In this method, the granules are formed by adding a granulation liquid onto a bed of powder. This is carried under the influence of a granulator known as the “impeller”. Typical types of granulation liquids used are water, ethanol and isopropanol either as single or in combination.

  2. Dry Granulation: This method is used to form granules without the presence of any liquid substance due to the sensitivity of the product granulated to moisture. To form the granules without moisture, compacting of the powders is done.

The method of granulation is mostly preferred for the disintegration of the plastic materials. This is implemented by the use of a machine known as the “Plastic Granulator”. It is a machine used to break down the plastic products for enabling their recycling. As most of our products are manufactured using plastic, and since it is not degradable; it leads to pollution of different forms. Hence, recycling needs to be done to enable the waste reduction of the plastic materials. With the advent of the “Plastic Granulator”, this is easily achieved as it enables breaking down the plastic materials into small pieces which can be easily recycled or dumped into landfills.
